Glen Tuomaala ~ St. Cloud State University
gatuomaala@stcloudstate.eduTuomaala is director of the St. Cloud State University Husky Sports Band in addition to being responsible for promotions and marketing for the Department of Music. He has Bachelors degrees in horn performance and music education from Bowling Green State University and the Masters degree in Music Education from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. In addition to his work at the university he is also director of the St. Cloud Municipal Band.
His previous teaching positions include Alma College (Alma, Michigan), Marygrove College (Detroit, Michigan), Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan) and the College of Mount St. Joseph (Cincinnati, Ohio). He has written reviews of new music literature and was a regular columnist for Band and Orchestra News, School Band and Orchestra, and Schoolmusic.com which earned him invitations to lecture on new music technology at the University of Dayton and the University of Delaware. Tuomaala is a former member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and was the Drum Corps Midwest and Drum Corps International Individual World Champion on Mellophone in 1992. He has also served as a marching band adjudicator for the Tri-State Circuit for the Pageantry Arts, Ohio Judges Association, National Association of Music Festivals and Performance Arts Consultants.

Nora Tycast ~ Spring Lake Park High School
ntycas@district16.orgA native of Edina, Minnesota, Nora Tycast is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where she recieved a Bachelor of Music degree. Recently she completed her Master's in Education Administration and Policy from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Ms. Tycast currently teaches several ensembles at Spring Lake Park High School. Prior to teaching at Spring Lake Park, Ms. Tycast opened a new high school in Miami-Dade County, Florida and taught for several years at Hopkins High School, Hopkins West Junior High and directed the marching band at Maple Grove Sr. High School. Ms. Tycast resides in Golden Valley with her husband and children.
