President
Greg DeGier ~ Jefferson High School-Alexandria, MN
gdegier@alexandria.k12.mn.usA native of Starbuck, MN, Greg DeGier attended the University of Minnesota, Morris, where in 1986, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Instrumental Music Education.
In the fall of 1998, Greg accepted the position of Associate Band Director at Jefferson High School in Alexandria, MN. Gregs duties at Jefferson include directing the Symphonic Band, the Pep Band, as well as being the Head Jazz Band Director and Assistant Marching Band Director. He also directs the 7th Grade Viking Band at Discovery Middle School.
Before Greg started teaching in Alexandria he taught at the Clinton-Graceville Schools in Graceville, MN, from 1989 to 1998 and the Grant-Deuel Schools in Revillo, SD, from 1987 to 1989.
Recently Greg finished a Masters Degree in Instrumental Conducting from St. Cloud State University. Greg is also active in teaching private lessons and adjudication.

Scott Kummrow ~ Fergus Falls Middle School
skummrow@fergusfalls.k12.mn.usScott Kummrow is currently in his seventh year of teaching. He holds a B.M. from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He served as band and choir director for Aurora Christian Schools in Aurora, IL for two years before joining the staff in Fergus Falls.
Kummrow directs the Sixth Grade Band, Eighth Grade Band, Varsity Band, Junior High Honor Band, Jazz II, Pep Band, Marching Band, and Jazz Combo. He also teaches fourth grade music and is the 6th - 12th grade music teacher for Minnesotas iQ Academy.
Kummrow serves MBDA as Event Chair for the Middle Level Honor Bands and Secretary for the Northwest Region. As a trombonist, he performs with the Prairie Winds Brass of Fargo-Moorhead and the MSCTC Jazz Band.

Lisa Weniger ~ Wadena-Deer Creek
lweniger@wdc2155.k12.mn.usLisa Weniger is currently in her third year as Director of Bands at Wadena-Deer Creek Schools in Wadena, MN. Originally from South Dakota, Weniger is 1993 graduate of Southwest State University in Marshall, MN and earned her Masters in Music Degree from University of South Dakota in 1999.
Prior to her position at WDC, Ms. Weniger held instrumental teaching positions in Verndale, MN as 5-12 director of bands from 1993-1998 and 5-8 middle school director of bands at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in Fairfax, MN from 1999-2006. Ms. Weniger�s duties at WDC include directing the 6th Band, 7th/8th Band, 7th/8th Jazz Band, Concert Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, and summer Marching Band. She is also the assistant director for the Wadena Area Community Band and an active flute performer of the group as well.
Ms. Weniger is an active adjudicator, and is a member of MENC, MMEA, MBDA, Education MN, and serves as the NWMBDA Treasurer.

Matt Marsolek ~ Pine River - Backus
mmarsolek@prbackus.k12.mn.usA native Minnesotan, Matthew grew up in the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities, graduating from Anoka High School. Matthew attended Bemidji State University where he earned his degree in K-12 Instrumental and General Music Education in 2006.
Matthew Marsolek is currently the director of bands in the Pine River-Backus school district where he oversees band students in grades 5-12. He manages many aspects of the music department including the classroom concert bands, jazz bands, pep band, marching band, drumline, and pit orchestra among other activities. Since arriving in 2006, Matthew started a marching band program and has written a new school song.
Matthew is musically involved in the community as well. Playing principal trombone with the Heartland Symphony Orchestra since 2006, he has recently been appointed the Assistant Conductor of the orchestra. He enjoys playing for many different venues, and has his own guitar duo known as "Matt and Jesse." In the summers, he enjoys attending workshops and working at music camps which have included the Band of America (now Music For All) Summer Symposium, Northland Youth Music Program, the International Music Camp, and the Bemidji MusiCamp, where he currently serves as Associate Director.

Tim Johnson ~ Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton
tjohnson@dgf.k12.mn.usTim teaches elementary and junior high band and junior high general music for the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Public School District. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of North Dakota (1990) and a Master of Arts in Trombone Performance from Minnesota State University Moorhead (1998). Tim lives in Moorhead with his wife Amy and two children, Elizabeth and Zachary. Tim and Amy are band directors and freelance trombone players in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Tim also plays bass guitar in a local variety band and Euphonium with the North Dakota American Legion State Band.
