Honor Bands
The individual regions outlined in Minnesota by the Minnesota Band Directors Association each sponsor two annual honor bands, one comprised of students in grades 6, 7 and 8, and another comprised of students in grades 9 and 10. Another pair of bands is sponsored annually at the state level through a recorded audition process. Beginning Band Festival
The Minnesota Band Directors Association hosted four Beginning Band Festivals on the first two Saturdays in May of 2004. These festivals took place in multiple locations throughout the state.
