Honor Bands

The Minnesota Band Directors Association sponsors two honor bands annually, one comprised of students in grades 6, 7 and 8, and another comprised of students in grades 9 and 10. Information about the 2005-06 Honor Bands is available on the Honor Band information page.

Beginning Band Festival

The Minnesota Band Directors Association hosted four Beginning Band Festivals on the first two Saturdays in May of 2004. These festivals took place in multiple locations throughout the state. This new tradition will continue in 2006 with four Beginning Band Festival sites and a new Second Year Band Festival!

College Workshop Grants

The Minnesota Band Directors Association has made two $500.00 grants available to college or university MBDA members.

These grants are to be used for clinics or workshops that directly benefit Minnesota band directors. The grant must constitute no more than 50% of the total clinic/workshop budget.
