About MBDA

The Minnesota Band Directors Association is an organization assisting in the development of band directors and band programs in schools, colleges, and communities throughout Minnesota. It is an organization founded with a genuine spirit of dedication, and with the intent to work cooperatively with other organizations.

 Please make sure that several days prior to the deadline that your dues are current and that you have the "submit" rights added to your log in--you will be able to see this after logging in, clicking submissions, and then seeing a "submit files" button in the upper right area of the honor band mp3 submission page. If you are experiencing any technical difficulties, please email mbdawebmanager@mbda.org

HONOR BAND AUDITION UPDATES
*Scales must be included with the audition. All woodwind and brass
scales should be played as a quarter note = 120.  Percussion scales
should be played as a quarter note = 140. A scoring rubric is posted
to help your students understand how the etudes and scales are judged.

Changes to MBDA honor band materials

1. 6-8 horn #18 simile staccato
2. 9-10 horn #12 top part3. 9-10 trumpet #26 top part and eighth note
rather than quarter note
