The 6th annual April Band Director Workshop presented by MBDA will take place at Chanhassen High School on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 in conjunction with the MBDA State Honor Band Weekend.

The cost, detailed below, helps offset clinician fees and includes a dinner, snacks, and handouts.

  • After April 7th  - $20
  • Music Education Majors/Student Teachers/MBDA Mentees - $5

MBDA will provide certificates stating that participants have 8.5 hours of CEUs for participating in the workshop.

12:45-2:00 - Session 3: Observe 6-8 & 9-10 Rehearsals

2:15-3:00 - Session 4: 9-10 Conductor: Dr. James Patrick Miller - The Fruits of the Conductor's Spirit

3:15-4:00 - Session 5: "Reliable Rhythm Reading" (bring instruments)- Nancy Dostal

4:15-5:00 - Session 6: Technology in the Classroom Panel

5:15-6:00 - Dinner

6:00-6:45- Session 7: 6-8 Conductor: John Lace - "Things I've Stolen Along the Way"

7:00-7:45 - Session 8: Student Reflection and Self-Assessment Roundtable

8:00 – Debriefing at a local venue

To register by mail please complete the form, write a check for the appropriate amount (made out to MBDA), and mail them to the address listed on the form. Registration form and payment must be postmarked by Friday, April 7th for early registration.
