MBDA Mentorship Resource
The goal of the MBDA Mentorship Program is to serve, support, and guide young teachers and teachers new to Minnesota through their first three years of work in the state. The Mentorship Program pairs "Mentees" with "Mentors" that share geographic considerations, workload similarities, and other targeted match criteria. We aim to provide a high quality system for new teachers to create networks, find collegial support, and feel connected to the professional team of MBDA educators across the state!

Interested in having a mentor?
If you are a teacher who is in your first three years of teaching in the music profession, new to teaching band in your role, or new to Minnesota, you are eligible to be paired with an MBDA Mentor! Please fill out the MENTEE FORM below to be added to our pairing list. Note: please answer all questions accurately and reflectively so that your "Mentee Profile" is a true representation of your strengths and areas for growth!
Interested in serving as a mentor?
Experienced teachers at all levels of band education and from all regions of the state are encouraged to apply to serve as a mentor in the MBDA Program! You may be paired with a mentee based on geographic region, teaching assignment, or other combinations of criteria. Not every mentor applicant will be assigned a mentee each year. We are lucky to have a large pool of mentors so some mentors may not be assigned in any given year. Stipends and mileage will be available to mentors as funding allows. Grants and state level support provide these opportunities and are constantly being sought by MBDA.
